How to get ready for a content shoot

A simple checklist from Taha at Urban Promotion. Updated November 2026.

Quick answerPick a quiet time, tell your team, tidy the space, and have 2 or 3 happy customers ready to say a few words. We plan the rest with you.

A week before

  • Pick a time that's quiet but still looks busy
  • List what you want more of: jobs, bookings, members
  • Pick 3 things you want people to see
  • Ask 2 or 3 happy customers to be on camera
  • Tell your team, and check who's happy to be filmed

The day before

  • Tidy the front, the counter and the work area
  • Clean the vans, signs and uniforms
  • Write down questions customers always ask
  • Have your best products, dishes or jobs ready

What to wear

  • Your uniform or branded shirts
  • Plain colours. Skip small stripes and big logos from other brands.
  • Something you feel good in

On the day

  • Work as normal. Real beats staged.
  • No scripts. We ask simple questions.
  • Turn off loud music while we film talking bits
  • Say yes to a few silly ideas. They often do best.
